Ordinary depreciation positive in area 01

HI SAP Experts,

We capitalized the two assets in July 2017 but business wanted to transfer one asset with in company code level which is Intra-company transfer and another asset has to be disposed.

we are NOT able to either transfer or disposed none of the assets (2 Assets) mentioned above as getting error message "Ordinary depreciation positive in area 01"

Note: We have maintained "Only negative values and Zero allowed" in T Code "OABN"

Can you please assist me on this

Hi Anil,

Select the check box - "Neg. Aals Allowed" in the depreciation area 01 of Asset master record and proceed further.

HI,

Check Ord dep balance in AW01N (Asset explorer) if it's negative here. Logically, assets are depreciated (decreasing NBV, Net Book Value) not increasing NBV. Your scenario seems like someone posted adjustments for NBV.

Also, check your config of Define Dep area if Value maintenance is "Only negative values and Zero allowed"

First Question: Is the depreciation really positive in area 01?

What happens if temporarily allow positive values?
