MDM Remote Key generation

Hello all,

I am trying to generate Keys based on the Qualified range for one of the Remote systems. I specified the Lookup field and the Qualified Range for all possible values of the Lookup field. Now in the Syndicator I created a map and mapped the [Remote Key].[Value] filed appropriately. When I try to run the syndicator, a dialog box is displayed with the message "Exporting to XML....". This dialog box is remaining just like that for hours together but with no file generated. I am on MDM 5.5.42.48. The Syndicator I am using is 5.5.42.48 too. Is this a bug in the product? Has anyone encountered this situation? Any work arounds /fixes / recommendations from SAP???

Thanks

Suman

Hi Anita,

We are facing a similar issue with SP05. We are in the latest available hotpack. For our supplier and Material repositories, we are not able to generate remote keys when syndicating - we use a qualified number range.

What is the solution proposed by SAP for this bug ? Is there any SAP note released for this ?

Please share any further information that you have on this..

Hi Suman,

If you have mapped you remote key value from source to any field in the destination, you should be able to syndicate. However, if you are syndicating for the first time & you are syndicating to a port - MDM syndicates all records available in the map to the destination system. Therefore if you have a large number of records the syndication might run for a long time.

We did face a similar issue, however in our case we were not able to view the records in the destination preview tab either, we resolved this issue by upgrading to SP5 P2 (5.5.42.65). Do let us know how you´re issue is resolved .

Well, I only have 4 records in my repository currently. The syndicator was running for a couple of hours just to syndicate these 4 records but created no file. After all the waiting, I terminated the process. We are not able to fix this issue yet!!

Thanks

Okay, some more questions are you syndicating via port ? If so, is your port on manual / automatic processing modes ? If it is in automatic processing,is your syndication service running ? Also please check if the network ports are open for the syndication server. Please refer the syndication guide available in SMP & check if all your settings are in place.

Anita,

SAP confirmed that it is a bug in the product. This happens only when you are using Qualified Ranges for Remote Key generation. If you use any other setting for Remote Key generation, my syndication works great. It is not problem with any of my configuration or port issues. Thanks for your help.
