Characteristic results cannot be rec inspection lot after GST.

Dear All,

Our client faces the following issue in which the inspection lot has status "REL", But not able to record results. It throws the following error:

Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot xxxxxxxxx.

Message no. QE181

Every characteristics and Quality Management details in MM are all correct. It has been working fine all these years ,only after GST they say they face this issue,they need to reset sample for each and every lot and then only they can proceed with result recording.

I surfed through many links already discussed regarding this and whatever told by experts are all maintained correctly already (as per my knowledge,correct me if am wrong). The inspection plan has been created in 2013 itself and they face this issue only after recent GST implementation.

Kindly help me with it.

I doubt that this has anything to do with GST, but there are SAP notes for this error message that explain a side effect after a system upgrade.

So I would recommend to search for OSS notes using the message number QE181,

and if the existing notes do not fix your issue and you still believe in a side effect from GST implementation then I suggest to open a ticket at SAP Support yourself

Hello Jurgen,

Yeah as you said it is a side effect after system update. And sap note "2346209 - Sample size is zero, results recording not possible after system update" has been suggested for rectifying this issue.

And as you told the cause is ,

SAP Note 2154693 - 'Identical Selection occurs on PLPO Table in the Include LCPEXFN1 resulting in Performance Issue' is implemented in the affected system. It has a side-effect in Quality management regarding sample calculation.

Resolution:

Implement SAP Note 2299446 - 'Performance Improvement while reading Tasklist operations' and SAP Note 2346673 - 'CP_EX_PLAN_READ return outdated operation data' into the affected system.
