How to change Current Number in number range?

Is there a FM I could use to easily change current number(NRIV-NRLEVEL)? I made a quick try with NUMBER_RANGE_INTERVAL_UPDATE but couldn't make it work, at least not yet.

An example code would be greatly appreciated.
