Can't open EPM Add-in from Business Process Flow in BPC NW 10.1

Hi all,

I have come across an issue with opening EPM Add-in from IE explorer. It does not match with any of the symptoms mentioned in the blog below.

https://blogs.sap.com/2016/07/06/unable-to-open-epm-add-in-from-bpc-web-client/

I am just wondering if this is something that anyone has come across?

Symptoms:

1. EPM is installed properly, it can be launched successfully from Excel and we can see it on the interface list of BPC for web.

2. When launching EPM Add-in from Business Process Flow on the BPC Web, nothing happens. no error message, no excel is opened. When check windows task manager, we can see excel is launched from the process list. However, it is not opened from BPC web.

3. This only occurs to one user among all the users who are using the same BPC environment on same version of MS Office, IE explorer and EPM Add-in.

Is this something that you have seen before? Any suggestion on it. Have tried re-install EPM Add-in and IE explorer. It did not make any difference.

Thanks a lot,

Jingjing

There is no magic solution. Try complete MS Office uninstall/install.

Try the same user on different PC!

Hi Vadim,

Thanks for your reply. I can open EPM Add-in from BPF successfully on my machine. When my log on was used on this particular user's machine, I can't open EPM Add-in from BPF either.

Thanks

Then the issue is not with the user but with user PC!

1. Uninstall EPM completely

2. Full MS office uninstall/reinstall

3. Install EPM

Thanks for your suggestion. I have suggested a re-install of MS office. Hopefully that would solve the issue. Otherwise might have to re-image the laptop? Not sure if there could be something else relating to this issue, e.g. IE settings (though we have compared with a working machine).

I will update this thread again to let you know if re-install MS Office has resolved the issue.

Thanks
