How to stop a workflow?

Hi experts,

I am facing the issue with a purchase requisition workflow which starts again and again. The system is looking for a next approver (however already approved) and because it can not find any person responsible, it starts again and again. I already tried transactions SWIA or SWWL but it didn't help. The item can not be deleted because it is locked by WF-BATCH user. Any idea how to stop it?

Our Basis team had to restart the complete system during the weekend and it solved also my issue. Now, it doesn't run anymore.

Hi,

Deactivate the event linkage of your workflow start event in SWEC . Probably it is BUS2105.

"Starts again and again" - do you mean a new workflow (WS...) or the same WF stuck in a loop starting a new approval step?

If option 2 it will eventually die when it hits 10k steps or so.

If not, then the WF is obviously performing some change which triggers a new flow. Open the PR in change mode to lock it, so that WF can't perform the update. The cycle is broken and you can cancel the WF(s) with SWIA. Then fix the logic before the next time it happens...
