I faced with error during connection Maxdb to SolMan. Our Solman is 7.1 SP14.

I am trying to monitor a Java system only with a MaxDB. Our Solman DB is MaxDB. But when I try to configure the DB with Managed Systems Setup, Error in "Enter System Parameters": "Mandatory connection parameter 'DBSYS' not specified".

How to resolve this issue?

Hello Lukas,

The error "Mandatory connection parameter DBSYS not specified" basically means the following: "I do not know if this Database is MaxDB, Oracle, DB2 or whatever".
The reason for this most likely is that this database is not registered correctly in SLD (LMDB) - this is from where the step "Managed system Config" of Solution Manager reads the information "it is a MaxDB or an Oracle or a DB2, etc".

Another remark: A "normal" MaxDB, i.e, a MaxDB with an ABAP stack, is automatically registered into SLD(LMDB), but a Content Server MaxDB is not automatically registered into SLD (LMDB).

If this is applicable to you the following SAP Note explains how to register Content Server MaxDB manually into SLD (LMDB):
1018839 - Registering in the System Landscape Directory using sldreg
