Hello

I have a series of True / False expressions in 'check' columns.

Then I have a 'result' column that returns Answer A,B,C...etc...

This result column is variable made up of if statements using the 'check' columns.

When I try to crosstab, pivot the result against per 'team'

Team (rows) , Result (column) - I get the #multiselect error in the column.

Why doesn't Webi simply layout all of the 'result' answers across the columns?

Thanks!

I don't quite understand how the column can be a multivalue when it is simply the result of an IF statement returning 5 different answers. It isn't linked to anything.

I think maybe I have to create my own 'fixed' columns instead and count each one separately.

check if your variable is measure or dimension. If measure then convert to dimension and see

Done that.

Created a dimension = measure and used this in the cross tab, refreshed...same error.

Hi,

setup your table on the lowest level (create an unique key in your table)...let the variable work on that, via breaks you can aggregate the table like the layout you desire

Forgot to add that I do not have access to the Universe.

You don't need access tot the universe, but you will need to know the level of detail of your data, can't you use a specific unique ID or something, so set your table/block in webi up to the level that is causing no multivalue

OK. I think I see what you have said....I can use the ID as a multivalue I do not want it to be part of the crosstab.

How do I do this so the ID isn't part of the crosstab?

I added a screenshot of what I would like..

The answer column is a variable (if statements)

I have unique IDs but not sure where that fits in all of this.

the idea is to start clean without variables, only the data itself, like you need, adding in step 2 the variables..

TEAM A CHECK 1 CHECK 2 CHECK 3 ANSWER DO A DO B

TEAM B CHECK 1 CHECK 2 CHECK 3 ANSWER DO A DO B

variable DO A = If answer = "DO A" then 1 else 0

variable DO B = If answer = "DO B" then 1 else 0

step 3 hide CHECK 1 till ANSWER

I have 3 columns

Team Status ID

Team1 Leave 11111

Team1 Check 22222

Team2 Check 33333

Team2 Overdue 444444

I simply would like to have a pivot of this

Team on the left - OK

Status on the top - this is what I can't get without a multiselect.

Cound of ID - OK

All the checks are True/False variables - so it is not possible to 'start clean' without variables.

What do you mean?

The numbers in the table show a count that I want to get to eventiually. but I need to be able to get the column heading correct first.
