Transport concern while provisioning to two landscape targets from Higher Landscape system

Hi Gurus,

Have a small query. Requirement is, in Quality IDM 8.0 system, Quality and Training Targets (say ECC of Quality and Training) are to be connected. Import of First package (say com.test.mypackage) and adding additional repository (for Training ECC) would go as expected.

Not sure what would be the effect of subsequent import of same package (com.test.mypackage) from Development to Quality. Whether would it overwrite the repository definitions (of Training ECC System - like remove) on Quality or let them be.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks.

BR,

Ganesh S

Hi

Repository definition is changed/imported in idm admin UI. Package import will not change the repository definition. But if the package constants, scripts etc are different in IdM Dev and QA, the values will be overwritten.

Cheers

Hi Chengyang,

Thanks for the revert.

How would it impact the repository based jobs (configured to run from Admin UI), defined on the repository when the package is reimported.

For example, Package "com.test.mypackage" hold definition for repository type "RT1" holding a repository type constant "Daily_Update_Job" with Category "Repository Constant" and Type "Job Reference".

On Quality IDM Admin UI, this constant is mapped to a job "J1" for Quality Repo; and "J2" for Training Repo.

On Dev IDM the constant has value "J1". On subsequent import of same package from Dev, would the values be overwritten on Training Repo.
