Wrong Placement of SAP ASE

Team,

I would like to bring you notice the SAP ASE is wrongly placed under products rather it should have placed under databases.

Kindly help us to move to the appropriate place accordingly.

For SAP applications: SAP ASE is a database.

For customers who use ASE for what SAP calls "Custom Applications": SAP ASE is a product

FWIW, SAP ASE, aka Sybase ASE, is a [database] product that's been around for 25+ years and has quite a few customers who use the product for non-SAP purposes.

In the other SCN there were actually separate forums ... SAP Applications running on SAP ASE ... SAP ASE for Custom Applications.

Your point is taken about expecting SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise under Database; however, SAP ASE is an SAP product and therefore listed as such. That said, I am looking into whether cross-referencing under Database is possible.

Thanks Yaniv. Hope you remember we met in TechEd 2016 Bangalore 🙂

Kindly treat the ASE as the database and it cannot be classified under the "Product" category as this is just a back end database for the SAP Business suite and stand alone applications. However I am opening new thread for one more concern on the ASE area.

I expect your comments so that the issue is being considered by the support team.

I received a "stock" answer from SAP about the issue - so don't hold your breath.

Hi Mike,

Yes you are right. I have tagged the "Using SAP.com". Hope they will address this issue.

Also, ASE points to Questions for "SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise Community" but there are no tags for this.

There are tags for "SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise Community"and "Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise Community"
