Do you have to use 1 template for both, or do ask if you can do it?
I actually see no real issue doing orders and contracts with one template. The data is finally stored in the same tables and where is the real difference between a sales order entry and contract entry? Probably just the valid from and valid to date, all other fields should be the same.
I use in many small company migrations a single template to load materials, batches, prices and inventory.
