Factory calendar contain company specific dates such as alternate working Saturdays, Plant shutdown etc.

You can create your company factory calendar via transaction code 'SCAL'.

Assignment of the factory calendar by plant is done in transaction code 'SM30 - V_T001W'.

An example of a SAP application that uses the factory calendar is the SAP MRP modules.

Assuming that you have a specified an alternate working Saturday, MRP will postponed the planned orders to the next working day if it happened to falls on a non-working Saturday.

    hi

factory calendar plays a vital role in SAP .the effects of the calendar is very helpful .

here when we create ,purchase, deliver, receive we check out for a date here when we receive something or issue something system consider the dates these days are working days, where if we want to procure material on holiday i.e date system gives you a warning or error (depends) and automatically consider the next working date

Go SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -->SAP NetWeaver -->General Settings -->Maintain Calendar OR type T code as --> SCAL

01>Select Public Holidays : Click create / change

Here you can create your holidays ( select fixed or floating holidays, based on requirement)

02 > Create a Holiday calendar : Enter ID and description, Incorporate the holidays creates above

03 > Create Factory calendar : Enter ID and description, From year to TO year, Holiday calender, Factory data start , working days

    and SAVE

Now assign this to Plant under

Enterprise Structure >Definition>Logistics - General-->Define, copy, delete, check plant
