Density problem

The rolls are 950 meters long, but they are purchased and managed in kilos. The densitity varies, for the same material number, which means that the weight can be between 850 and 950 kg.

Business does not want to type the number of kilos of each roll at every goods receipt considering that they are receiving and using around 150 of these rolls a week.

What would your suggestion to tackle the problem be?

thanks for any ideas that you may have

did you try specifying an additional unit of measure for the material in material master and use metres as the additinal unit, here you can also give the conversion from kg to metres

      thanks,

I am in the same line of thinking, but I am also viewing this as a classic retail problem, and I am hoping that someone who is knowledgable in that area might have some other ideas.

      E.g. I buy oranges at $1 a kg, but I sell them at $1 for 3 pcs.
