Unintended vehicle resources being assigned to FO created by TM optimizer planning

Hi All,

In TM 9.4 system, we are trying to perform optimizer planning - "selected entries using all resources" of a selected freight unit.

The planning profile being used has capacity selection profile in it, which only has selection criteria for 4 vehicle resources (lets say Res. A, Res. B, Res. C and Res. D) and same 4 vehicle resources are also visible in transportation cockpit - Resources area.

But once the optimizer planning is finished the new Freight Order is being created with altogether new resource (Res. E) assigned to it. I have checked the optimizer explanation tool and it is indeed considering new vehicle resource (Res. E) as an input to TM Planning Optimizer even though it was not selected in corresponding capacity selection profile of used planning profile.

Any idea why this could be happening?

Dear Pralhad,

Please make sure that the planning profile mentioned in the log has got the same capacity selection profile as the one selected in the profile selction screen, but as I understand from you, you are quite confident this is the case.

Another reason why you might get the unexpected resource is the so called context determination. This means for example that your planning profile has got a selection profile for freight orders. These freightorders including the attached resources are selected and sent to the optimizer, so check in the log if there are some unexpected freightorders which might explain why you see the resource which is not in your capacity selection profile.

Thanks for your answer.

You are correct here.The FO selection profile was selecting the existing FO's with unintended resources assigned to them (as seen in optimizer log) and also, the "Automatic Connection Determination" a.k.a. "Context Determination" was turned on in the "Optimizer Settings -> Advanced" of the planning profile. Due to these two reasons, unintended resources outside of the "Capacity Selection Profile" were being assigned to newly created Freight Order.
