Hi guys,

in profit center what is "derivation rule"?

    Hi,

    you can define derivation rules that the system should use to find a default profit center for the additional balance sheet/profit and loss accounts.

    If no profit center has been specified for an additional balance sheet or profit and loss account, the system finds a default profit center using the derivation rules. If this does not yield a profit center, it uses the default profit center maintained for that account or the corresponding account interval.

    You can setup the derivation via transaction 3KEI.

    However, with the new GL in ECC6, this step may be deemed redundant....

    Hi Syamson,

    For all the balance sheet items if you want to give a default profit center you can maintain the same in the T Code 3KEH and for all the cost elements you can maintain the same in the T Code OKB9.
