    Versions:

You can use versions to create independent data groupings in planning and in actual.

In planning, versions display alternative plan scenarios based on different planning assumptions. For example, you can illustrate varying employment markets, price and wage increases, or sales programs in different versions with differing parameters.

The data for the most likely version in planning normally appears in version 000. The plan data you enter here forms the basis for calculating plan prices for activity types and determines the rates by which you allocate activities in actual. Version 000 also holds all actual data postings. The plan and actual data for version 000 serves in plan/actual comparisons and in variance analysis.

You make settings for version maintenance on a hierarchical basis.

In this IMG activity you edit the general version definition on the client level.

You make controlling area settings in the IMG for the Cost Center Accounting, Overhead Orders, or Activity-Based Costing components.

You make profitability segment settings in the IMG for the Profitability Analysis component.

You make profit center settings in the IMG for the Profit Center Accounting component.

    Hi,

You can maintain differerent plans with the help of versions. You can maintain budgets for these plans so that finally you can take a decision which plan needs to be adopted according to your allocated budget.

    Hope it helps you.

    Hello

Versions can used most of the modules in SAP.

It is data storage unit, where specific record types are stored.

A record type can be one of the following:

    Actual data

    Plan data

    Actual allocation data

    Planned allocation data

You define a version by record type and version number.

You can define two different versions for your plan data - plan version 1 and plan version 2.

    This is just an example.

    hi sam,

In general, versioning describes the relationship between two documents where one of the documents is derived from the other. If you want to maintain the Versions of the Documents then you need to have "Content Manager" Role.

    for example:

    with technical name like SAP_CIN_MANAGER

for maintaining cin version we can generate the reports based on the "content manager" role

Versions are used to maintain data.In this you have plan the data and budget the data after the planning and budjeting you can lock the data. this locking is not to modify by any body.( to see the accuracy and restrictions). You can plan data version 1 and also version 2

    Actual data

    Plan data

    Actual allocation data

    Planned allocation data

Define a version by record type and version number.
