Hi guys,
Coming from a beginner's point of view, when I want to configure and customize ESS, I'm trying to understand
1. When to use SPRO or Web DynPro or PCD .
2. Under what circumstances should I use SPRO over Web DynPro,
3. What functionalities does SPRO has over Web DynPro
Hi Rajendra,
Thanks for the informative reply! So, in other words, can I say that SPRO is generally used for configuring the ESS overview page and the overview pages of its services (e.g. Employee Search overview pg, Benefits & Payment overview pg) only? And SPRO is unable to support customization of iViews, which will have to be done in Web DynPro?

Hi
The Ess iview is created using Webdynpro java. For Custimization of ess screens , we use NWDI
See this sap teched presentation for your reference

Hi zhenmin wang ,
you are right.
Using SPRO the SAP HR Consultant configures the services
to be displayed on ESS .
If you require Furter Customization inside the Views which requires Coding
then it is done through WebDynpro. For this you have to Set up NWDI
to get the Source Code into the Developer Studio.

Rajendra
