Adjust layout of Work Order Operations table but only for selective users (not as a global setting)

I would like to edit the layout of the Work Order operations tab such that the columns are rearranged or hidden as needed. I understand the ability to perform it using table layout. How can this be set up in such a way that this is not a global setting. I would like to provide flexibility such that each user group has their own layout as a standard. Is this possible?

Hi Pete,

I am unable to access the 2nd link. Per the 1st Link it says - You can adjust the layout of a table control at two levels:

  • User level, and
  • Client level

Is there a way to do the same at a user group level? We would like to have a layout in place for a group of users (not all the users) so that they do not have to individually manipulate the table.

Hi Jacob,

I dont think this can achieved through standard setup.

You need to first finalize, how many user groups you want to make? Ask your abaper to create Authroization objects for the fields you want to restrict for different users, then assign these objects to individual roles.

Who has the tole will have the access.

It will be tricky, when you want to hide the field rather than only displaying it.

You need both security team and abaper to complete your work.

Thanks Terence. Am not sure if i understood your response correctly. We are not looking at any field level restrictions/authorizations with respect to edit for the users. We just want the table layout to vary by user group. Example (only for representation purpose)
User Group 1 - Operation Number, Sub Operation, Operation Description, Work Center and so onUser Group 2 - Operation Number, Operation Description, Work Center, Work, Uom, Duration, UoM etc, Sub Operation etc.User Group 3 - Operation Number, Work Center, Description, Sub Operation etc.

Hello

Please use the Screen Variant for your requirement.

Additionally create the Z Table with control parameters User Group so accordingly you can prepare the screen Variant.
