    Hi,

Residence time is related to SAP Data Archiving. Residence time specifies the minimum amount of time an application document should spend in the online database before being considered a candidate for archiving. In case of Orders there is a concept of Deletion flag and Deletion Indication and hence there is Residence time 1 and 2. An Order can be archived only if the deletion flag and deletion indicator has been set for it and the residence time 2 is surpassed.

Check the linkhttp://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/8d/3e65a0462a11d189000000e8323d3a/content.htm">link> for details on Residence time 1 and Residence time 2

    Hope this helps

    Cheers!

This is related to archiving. After you mark an order for deletion, it will be stored for the retention time, then when archiving take place, this object will be archived.
