Real time enabled generic data source

Hi Experts

How do I create a “real time” enabled generic data source? I have created a generic data source based on a table, but in BI the data source has been set to No Real Time data Acquisition. I have tried to replicate the data source as both a 3.x and a 7.0 data source.

We use BI 2004s, SP 11.
