Hi All
I am working on BI 7 wherein I have removed 3 chars out of 5 from a Dimension table through Remodelling Toolbox and schedule the same immediately and activated the InfoCube
When I transport the same to the quality box, I am getting an error stating that the dimension which I have changed is not activated
I have checked the same in the quality box client and can see that the structure of the Cube got changed where in it shows only 2 chars beneath the dimension but the dimension table remains the same with 5 chars
again I have checked the dimension table in SE11
I am getting a message
"Enhancement category for table missing
Enhancement category for include or subtype missing
Kindly Help
Hi,
what have you transported? The InfoCube. That's wrong.
You must start the Remodeling on all BW-systems.
In the past you must also create the remodeling rule on each system. SAP would be change this, so that this to be transport.
After the remodelling all dependant object are inactiv.
=> activate the update rules and MultiProvider. To transport this objects.

Hi Sven,
I am not sure on this because when I transported the InfoCube
The structure of the Cube got changed via transport but only the dimension table where the changes have been done has not changed.
I think there should be some other ways but I am not sure
one more doubt How can I revert back the deleted Characteristics
do I have add the deleted ones in the InfoCube or
do I have add the same via remodelling toolbox
Kindly help
After SP9 you can actually remodel the cube and activate the cube as well as the update rule and transport to the next system in the landscape. Actually, I have just done that few days back and never got any issue. Prior to SP9, that is true that you have to do remodeling in each system.
To bring back the deleted objects, either you can manually add in cube maintenance or you can also use cube remodeling. Normally we use cube remodeling to add fields so that we can build some logic (ABAP code) to fill the value to the new field, I guess in you case you don't need it, so you can directly make the changes.
thanks.

Hi Wond,
I have SP12 installed
The problem I am facing is when I transport the Cube I am getting the transport failed with error 8
to my suprise the structure of the cube changed
but dimension table has remain unchanged
Checked the dimension table via se11
I am getting a message
"Enhancement category for table missing
Enhancement category for include or subtype missing
Also, Let me know how you have done the changes earlier
If you have any document kindly forward the same at

that is the link I have, but really doesn't answer your question.
Does your cube has data in? I am guessing that, during remodeling you need to make sure everything is green and if one fails, you can restart it back. And also can you check in Dev box if the dim table has removed the fields? If the dim table removed the fields in the dev box, then I would recommend you reimporting the transport with overwrite option.
During remodeling, once the remodeling process is complete, you don't have to make any modification to the remodeled cube other than activating the cube and update rules.
Hope you get the solved.
thanks.
Wond
What you are getting is exactly how the system is supposed to be.
You should have transported the remodeling rules, and run it on the target system. A Cube transport with changed definition, and with data in it is going to end in such inconsistent state.
Likely the cube will not allow deletion of data. If it does, and you don't have a problem with it, delete all the data and then retransport the cube.
The message you are getting in SE11 is essentially a warning and shouldn't be related to this problem.
If this doesn't solve your problem - edit the dimension table in SE11 (if it allows that) and drop those fields. Then go to SE14 and do an adjust DB. Afterwards activate the table. I am pretty sure this won't work but you can try.
