Building the ear for the ISA 4.0 .

Hi All

I have a customized ISA 4.0 application. For building the final EAR through ANT <b>DO we</b> require the SAPJ2EE engine to be installed on our Machine , because while building through ANT i guess it refers to various jars of the SAPJ2EE engine and i am getting the following error while building because i do not have the WAS on my machine.

<i>BUILD FAILED

file:C:/ISABUILDTOOL/project/buildmodification.xml:70: C:\usr\sap\XXX\JC

00\j2ee\cluster\server\additional-lib not found.</i>

So Is it possible to build the code without the WAS independantly.

Please advice .

regards

Nilesh .

    Hi Nilesh,

I have developed a full ISA B2B and B2C solution without having a WAS installed on my development laptop... The solution is to have a number of .jar files copied locally. Here's an excerpt from my rough guide to developing with ISA...

    1. Install Ant Builder.

You need to download Apache Ant Builder from http://ant.apache.org/. SAP recommends using at least version 1.5.1 but not to use version 1.6.1 if you are running Windows XP. I have found 1.5.2 to be fine.

Extract apache-ant-1.5.2-bin.zip to a suitable place on your hard drive (the root of C:\ or D:\ are ideal.)

Add in the SAP XML Java tools:-

    • Copy inqmyxml.jar into your ant\lib folder.

Add in the HTTP java tools:-

    • Copy servlet.jar to ant\lib\cluster\server\additional-lib.

Set up correct environment variables for Ant to run:-

    • Right click on My Computer and choose properties.

    • Go to the advanced tab and click on Environment Variables.

    • Under System Variables click on new and enter ANT_HOME as the name and the root of your Ant installation (C:\ant or D:\ant for example)

    • Now select the ‘Path’ system variable and click on edit. At the end add a semi-colon and then “C:\ant\bin” or “D:\ant\bin” accordingly.

    2. Install ISA Build Tool.

You need to download the SAP ISA Build Tool from SAP OSS – note number 594370.

When I went through this pain, I copied the 2 jar files directly from our WAS installation to ensure I had the correct versions.

    Hope this helps,

    Gareth.
