Regarding SAP XI in INDIA

Hello all Gurus...

Im a newbie to SAP XI..and as usual i have some doubts for which i want clarity to move further in understanding the concept...

What is SAP XI (please answer in Layman's terms). When du we use it?

What is its need when we have Cross applications already in SAP R/3..?

How is its demand in India and which Place has more demand?

    Hi Friend,

SAP XI is a Process Integration platform.

It enables you to connect systems from different vendors.

The advantage of XI is it converts ABAP messages to XML format which again converts to the target systems format .

Before XI , The R/3 messages(idocs) had to USE several ALE setups between different R/3 systems.

Finally XI minimizes TCO (total cost of ownership).

For more info on XI visit http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

    Thanks
