What is JCO,,,Do we need create JCO Destinations in Enterprise portal aswell as in SAP R/3 System.

SAP Java Connector is a middleware component that enables the development of SAP-compatible components and applications in Java. SAP JCo supports communication with the SAP Server in both directions: inbound calls (Java calls ABAP) and outbound calls (ABAP calls Java).If you want to install the SAP Java Connector as a standalone component, you have to download the installation files from service.sap.com.

JCO is Java COnnector. It is an adapter which allows us to connect from portl applications to SAP systems like R/3,BW,CRM etc....
JCO API has provision to create connections to back end, call RFCs and fetch result data etc...
