Hi All,

I am using XML file of material master in import manager and pre-defined material master repository.

I have mapped

E1MARAM-MATNR-Products-material number

E1MARAM-MTART-Products-material type etc and have created records in MDM Data Manager.

However,when I am mapping E1MAKTM-MAKTX-Products-Description , the material text is not getting transferred to the MDM Data Manager.

Please provide some inputs to me.

Hi,

You can use the concept of joins here since you are importing the data from two tables.i.e.E1MARAM and E1MAKTM.

1)In Import Manager in source hierarchy pane select E1MARAM,then select the MATNR field,right click and select the option join.It then asks for the table name with which you have to create a join(here say E1MAKTM).Then it asks you for the field in second table which decides joining condition(I.e MATNR which is common field in both tables).

2)After the join is created a look up table is created under E1MARAM.Select that look up table right click , select lookup option,it will display other fields of E1MAKTM.select the fields which u want to map in your case E1MAKTM-MAKTX.

3)Then in map fields tab ,map the respective fields and import the data

Hi,

Please check the mapping fields twice and whether that field has value in it.

If it is there , there is no chance that it will not get populated.

One more point after getting into Data Manager , refresh it by pressing 'PF5'.

Otherwise it retains last status particularly if you are not getting into DM fresh.

Hi,

I have checked fields it has values in it.Also, I have refreshed the data manager.

In the matched records tab of Import Manager

When I select E1MARAM in source hierarchy and Products in Destination hirerachy I can see

Material Number

Material type etc

But when I select E1MAKTM in source hierarchy and Products in Destination hierarchy I can see

Description

Hence, material number and material type gets created in data manager or only description gets created in data manager.

Actually I want material number,material type and description all to be created in one row.

Hi Priti,

There can be multiple causes of the problem that you have quoted.

When i has done this scenario, the description field was in another segment in the XML file.

Hence i had to join these sources so that all the 3 fields ( material no, material type and description) all come together.

Secondly, you will have to see whether the data for the description field is multilingual. And accordingly you will have to provide the same in MDM.

And if you want your Desciption along with with the other fields, then you will have to pivot the same in Import Manager so that the rows become columns and all the 3 fields will be visible together.
