Virtual Characteristic via BADI (0GLACCEXT) - +ve and -ve

Hi Guru's

We are moving across to HANA which means we no longer have Virtual Cubes which becomes an issue for Financial statement reporting, i.e. the derivation of 0GLACCEXT

I am getting conflicting information reading all the various blogs but a solution does state that you can create a Virtual characteristic using BADI RSR_OLAP_BADI - Is there an example of this. More importantly I have also read that it slows down the queries which is in direct conflict of moving across to HANA so is this the correct approach or is there something I have missed with the composite provider & virtual characteristics?

Regards

Fiona

    Hello Fiona,

are you referring to a SAP BW/4HANA system or a SAP BW powered by SAP HANA? The later still supports VirtualProviders so you can continue to use the existing solution.

If you are already on SAP BW/4HANA, then I it's best to wait for the new content to become available in Q4.

    • Hello,

We are moving towards the end of Q1 for 2017 and I still see no new content for the virtual cubes - please can you tell me when this will realistically be available or if there is another solution for this.

      Regards

We are using SAP BW/4HANA and it comes with standard content which doesn't include Virtual Providers. Old solution is

0FIGL_V10 sits on top of 0FIGL_C10 new content ADSO /IMO/D_FIGL12 with Composite Provider /IMO/V_FIGL02.

So what you are implying is that I need to stay on the old solution as the new content doesn't support normal financial reporting until Q4 or I try to create a Virtual characteristic using BADI RSR_OLAP_BADI which sits against the new Composite Provider.
