Retrospective Depreciation calculation

Hi,

What if i purchase an asset in the 2005 and charged the depreciation @ of 10%. Now, in the 2007 i want to change the depreciation from 10 to 20% and want to give retrospective effect.

Is there any customisation step available in Depreciation key, if no, what is the other alternative available

Regards

HI,

If FY 2005 and 2006 are not closed make the change in the dep key and do the repeat run. Other wise post a manual depreciation for the difference to date and use the option of Changeover.

If the FY are closed you need to open them through OAAQ, but it is a risky job.

Thanks

Hi Viajy

Thank for the replay, i got your point and i did the same as you said, but still i could not run the depreciation in repeat mode as i have already performed my carryforward transaction for the fiscal years. Even though i have the ways to do again, it will affect my annual reports which i have submitted to Government.

So wht i am left with is, i have to post the depreciation manually. Is there any option to do it automatically.

what are the steps for doing it manually.

Thanks and Regards

try <b>T-code ABAA</b> to post unplanned depreciation with appropriate TTy or try <b>T-code ABMA</b> to post Manual Depreciation but for this you have to specify <b>MANU</b> key in your asset master record.

I think if you change you depreciation rate from 10% to 20% system should be able to post any variance in you next posting run and you dont have to use above option. There is no need to open already closed fiscal year when you can post the variance in the current fiscal year.

Plz assign points if helpful.
