Leave Request :Change, Delete , approvals

Hi ,

I am on ECC 5.0 and EP 7.0. We are using the web dynpro ESS packages.

I have an odd situation

The employee requests for leave. The manager approves the same.

1) Now when the employee tries to delete the request it does not go for approval. The leave request is directly deleted.

2) Secondly , when an employee tries to change a request which is in SENT status, the CHANGE button appears in Leave Request screen, when i click on Leave request with status APPROVED, the change button disappears.

I have checked all settings in Processing Processes for Types of leave. but nothing seems to work.

I have used WS12300111 for New request and WS12400005 for change and delete requests.

Appreciate if any one can give pointers.

assign your employees to the defined rule groups based on their organizational assignments.

have you done this pl.

Yes, that is also completed, (assigning the employees...)

deduction in 2006 will show up according to the rule defined. request you to check with your time consultant.

for groupings can you send your rule group configs please.

I am also getting used column blank for certain type of leaves.

How did you resolve the issue?

please confirm the rule group of the employee for which you are getting the error.

I have created a copy of the standard rule group "SAP Standard" and named it to mine. The same is assigned to the Absence leave quota, leave type and the workflows.

check feature WEBMO feature and make sure you have done the setting for your grouping too.

Hi Barin,

Here are the issues which are still present

1)When i click on review button in leave , i get message " There are no Customizing settings for ongoing requests for employee XYZ" . Dont know why this is coming up.

2) Leave hours are not getting deducted from Quota balance after approval though the 2001 info type get the leave record. 2006 is not updated.

I would advise you to check your back end R/3 config for leave as updation of 2001 and deduction is done through rules written in the R/3.

my advise is to delete all the requests from ptarq database table and try as I know this application sometimes behaves wiered(Personal experiences). We have to follow certain sequences of config else there are chances of it behaving odd. so my advise is please delete all the approved unaapproved pending for updation requests from R/3 clear pa2001 and try again with fresh data.

I tried every thing which have said. I am still unable to get the "used" column value for the hours for which leave is taken in leave screen.

Not sure what is missing. I understand it would be something realted to counting rules.

Hi Barin,

I had already set the switch for "Remaining Leave Without Unposted Requests" in spro under "time accounts" . We are on ERP 2005. The "check includes unposted requests " is deactivated.

I feel it is some what related to setting for getting absence type balances.

Another thing to note is that leave balances are not getting deducted even though i post them using the back ground job which post the leaves in infotype 2001.

The "used" column also show number of hours as blank.

using ptarq transaction post all the requests and close those and then try... i think you are getting this because you have few requests posted without setting enviornment...

i m guessing but pl try and revert. using post docuemnts in ptarq.

you should go to spro and go to working time and read the document in front of each node in leave request. You are asking for the entire config doc which is very well available in there. Complete the customizing and your leave application would start working. that is the best document that is available in SAP R/3. It is very good and there is lot of clarity on the same.

Hi Barin,

Appreciate your reply. I have the leave requesst working very well what i am saying is there is an information message which pops up "There are no customizing settings for ONGOING REQUESTS for employee" when i click on review. Other than that, the leave request works perfectly fine.

I am not asking for entire config as i have already setup leave request. I am asking why this information message comes up.

Any ways , i will check out the config once again.

1. You cannot use WS12400005 for deletion instead use WS12300111

2. Make sure you are deleting approved leave because un approved leave gets deleted as there is no need of approval for something that is not approved.

3. You donot change unapproved requests. Change is supported only for approved requests.

1 ) I tried with WS12300111 for deletion but it doesnt work. Which is the workflow for change requests ?

Two issues here , the delete button on the Leave screen does not trigger the workflow. It directly deletes the record.

Secondly the "Change" button is not visible for "APPROVED" requests.

2) I know that upaaproved leave gets deleted by default with out approval. But in my case, approved and unapproved leaves are getting deleted with out approval even if i have set it up for approvals.

3) The change requests button is only coming up leave screen when the status of request is SENT. If status gets changed to APPROVED, which i click on leave in "Overview of leave " link, it does not show the Change button.

Any ideas ?

Can u tell me workflow for change/delete/cancel request ?

1. there is only 1 workflow for all the processes that is 12300111

it works and has been implemented at 10 locations atleast by me...

check the spro config please.

There was an issue as i have not set up the LEAVE REQUESTS: POST :RPTARQPOST job to run. once that was set up and run after every leave request, the change and delete started working.

i had worked on ESS ITS but i guess that a new functionality where the absences are updated after running the job rahter than immedialtley.

this is a message which i can see in "Configure output of messages" node in Leave request config.

I am not understanding why i am getting this information message when i have set up every thing in customizing .
