Hi Guru´s!!

I am implementing a SEM-BSC to a customer and they have a kind of requirement that I don´t know if the standard functionallity reaches.

They create one measure via measure builder and the measure created can be used in more than one scorecard. But, in case of use it in more than one scorecard, they need to assign it one by one to each scorecard. I know only this way to create and assing this measure to scorecards.

They want that once created the measure, if this measure created will be valid for several scorecards (with the same structure - strategy, perspectives, objectives, initiatives, measures), be valid to all equal scorecards and be assigned automatically, without need to assing it manually.

Does exist anyway to proceed this?

Suggestions, documents, tips would be very important in this case and

will be rewarded with points!!

Thanks to all in advance

Adriano

Hi Adriano,

you may have noticed SAP has now a new solution for strategy management based on the acquisitionn of a company called pilot. The new product, named SAP Strategy Management, is a next-generation scorecarding product providing many exciting features and replacing the SEM Balanced Scorecard solution. For more details, you may refer to my my blog.

Even if SEM Balanced Scorecard in maintenance mode now and SAP Strategy Management is the new tool of choice, I can provide you some details regarding your question for your currently running project. I would focus your attention on the following two SEM-CPM BSC features:

- derived scorecards

- strategic advice

a) Derived Scorecards:

are based on a scorecard template and adopt the template’s structural properties. The design possibilities for derived scorecards are restricted to the initialization of CPM variables used in the scorecard template. You use derived scorecards if several users require scorecards that have identical structures, but different details (for example, the responsible person or organizational unit). You control these details using the value of the CPM variables in each derived scorecard. The advantage of derived scorecards is that you only need to change the structure of the scorecard template

b) Strategic Advice:

In the Balanced Scorecard Wizard, you can create strategic advices for other users and get the system to list these strategic advices in a table. You use strategic advices to define whether it is obligatory or optional for other users to use a specific measure with a specific target value in their scorecard You can also create strategic advices that transmit explanatory notes rather than a measure. If the recipient of the strategic advice wants to transfer the measure, he can press a button and change his scorecard accordingly. You can also create strategic advices for initiatives and thus send a message to the person responsible.

hi

as per my understanding: if u use cpm variables u need not create multiple score cards. U can use same score card for different values

Hi Srinath G

How can I configure this CPM variable to allow identical scorecards to show

different vales and allow each scorecard, even with the same structure, to have

different responsibles?

I tried to do this with derived scorecards, but it is not allowing change the queries that support measures and not allow to change responsibles through derived scorecards; changes are allowed only at main scorecard.

Thank you a lot,

Adriano
