Connecting LT01 movements to production orders

Former Member

I have looked through the SAP archive, but cannot find a suitable explanation for this issue. My job is to post production orders from staging to final confirmation, and it is the staging with which I'm having problems. When I make a staging movement for a specific order in LT01, is there a way to connect that movement to a particular order number?

For the sake of an example, I can move material 300100200 from location A1234 to Line 15 using LT01, but how do I signify that this move is to fulfill order number xxxxxxxxx, specifically? That would also help with connecting return movements of the remaining stock from that order to its original location.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Staging of components and consumption, both are different things and you are mixing both,. Since, your responsibility is from production side to perform Confirmation activities against the production order, you cannot fix a link with manual staging process

As Gopal has explained that LT01 is used for manual Transfer order creation and I firmly believe you are using manual staging process with control cycle, as there is no Transfer requirement or outbound delivery creation process are set up for material staging. In WM PP, whats most important is the picking documents( TR/Outbound delivery) which are generated after production order creation/release and there is link established picking document and production order. You need to set up those which Gopal has mentioned.

With the above consideration of staging components via outbound delivery, you can automate the process of material staging and consumption.

When you confirm the TO, GI of components will happen automatically in background with configuration.

Logistics Execution -->Warehouse Management -->Interfaces-->Shipping Define Shipping Control-->Activity-->Define Shipping Control at the Movement Type Level. In the standard system the movement type 319 ( Replenishment for production ) is used for replenishment of production. Set the field Copy WM quantity to the value 2 ( Copy WM quantity as delivery quantity and post GR/GI ) for this movement type.

if you dont need to change your process then you can think to work like this.

1) Create a manual reservation MB21(261)

2) Consume your components or issue components against reservation, mat document will be generated

3) Create a manual TO against material doc by LT06

4) Confirm TO by LT12

Shalish, Gopal,

Thank you both for the thorough answers in this respect. I've only worked on SAP for two months, so my knowledge is not nearly as deep, but I'll do the due diligence on your solutions and see how they work.

Thanks again,

Hello,

LT01 is for manual TO creation. Material staging against a Production Order is an integration part of WM with PP.

Staging can be done in 4 Possible ways & this is controlled by your staging indicator(Control Cycle).

Please check the below steps in your config

1. Define Production Supply Area (SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define Production) - please take of givivng the proper SLoc

2. Assign this Production Supply Area to your work centre (CR02)

3. Assign movement type 319 to the before defined Production Supply Area

4. Create control cycle for your material (components - pick part), transaction LPK1

5. Set Production View (SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define Production) > Choose proper plant - production scheduling profile combination, and set '1' in the 'WM Request' field

6. Ensure, whether the proper production scheduling profile is assigned to your FG (material master, work scheduling profile)

7. Check whether in Wh Management View (SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define Production) PP interface is active

After this you can carry the process of Material Staging with reference to Production Order. Also make sure the control cycle you are maintaining based on that your process for Staging would change.

Thanks & Regards,

Gopal Attal.
