Hi,

Can any one help me in finding an answer for the questions

What is the difference between the client that we are using in the log on pad and the client which you usually tell for company.

What is the highest level of organizational unit in Enterprise structure.

Hi,

In the log-in screen, you choose a client (Ex: 800, 600, 500 etc) which is an instance of SAP. If you are implementing SAP for example, ABC Ltd, all your work like practice, can be confined to one client (say, 600). If you are also implementing SAP for XYZ Ltd, you can use client 800 for XYZ Ltd.

In SAP terminology, you sometimes call the company that is implementing SAP as "client". For example, if you are implementing SAP for Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), RIL is called "client". In Enterprise Structure, "company" is the highest level entity.

Hi,

In the logon area we mention the client.

In simple way we can say it as the work area. what ever configuration and transaction we are we are doing, it restricted to the client in which we are logging in.

Another term is the client we can term it as the company to which we are doing the implemenation / support. This is a very simple explanation for your understanding purpose.

Hope you are clear..
