TREX and 4.6C

Hi,

we still use 4.6C, EasyDMS and KPRO 6.30. Now we should install the TREX to search documents.

I have no idea what are the necessary steps to implement the needed things. For a pilotphase i have a server. Can anybody tell me in which order i have to install which software ? Is it necessary to install a WAS, is it possible without WAS ?

Thank you for your replay.

Can you tell me if it is necessary to install sap netweaver 2004s ?

At the moment I have only a server with Windows 2003 (32bit) on it. What are the next steps which i have to do ?

Hi Norbert,

so you want to use TREX with SAP R/3.

In this case you doesn't need the trex http server and therefore you doesn't need the IIS.

At first you have to install jdk 1.4.2. You need this for running sapinst.

Download TREX for example TREX 7.0 revision 34.

You need sapcar for unzip the sar file.

unzip the sar file.

Run sapinst. For connection TREX with SAP R/3 you need install by TREX as well the TREX SAP Gateway.

That's all.

You doesn't need any database, no WebAS, no NW04s.

Hi Frank,

is it without an IIS also possible to search in other directories or is it then only possible to search documents from the contentserver ? I have seen a demo where it seemed to be easy to add a "normal" directory for indexing. (That is what I want to have too)

Which documentation is the best to learn how to customize the TREX ?
