from bpc web page can't open anymore the EPM add-in

Hi Bpc Friends

We are facing a strange situation.

Some users aren't anymore able to launch the epm add-in from the BPC web page.

We have tried a lot of things but no luck so the IT Team rebuilt the windows profile for those users and it worked.

Do you know why at some point the windows profile get corrupted?

The IT Team is not happy to do this as normal support so they asked me to investigate why this situation is happening

Looks like only you can investigate this issue. Can be a lot of reasons...

thanks Vadim.

if I log into the user's pc with another user the link it does work, for this reason the IT thought that the issue is due to the windows profile

You have to analyze the errors, file access, registry access etc...

Hello Michele,

Yes as Vadim said there are so many possible reason for that issue.

possibilities.

1. if the epm addin is disabled in excel and you try to login excel from web page it will not respond at all.

2. EPM add-in installation is not done properly. uninstall and install in properly.

what exactly the IT team is doing to fix the issue..?

We have tried a lot of different things: in-install and install again and so on.

the solution was to rebuild the windows user profile because everything is fine if log into the user's machine with another user

There are a lot of Windows system administrator tools to perform real time tracking of file access and registry access. You need a good system administrator to help you.

1
