Internal order closing

Hi All,

I have one questions regarding the Internal orders,

I want to have the order not receive any assessments/allocations, but be able to open the order for future postings. On the Internal Orders there are options to close or technically complete an order which one should I use or does it matter.

and also once i close the order, is it possible for me to reopen it again. How?

Thanks for all the help.

IO serves a specific purpose. for example u want to track the sales promotion expenses for which u have planned and released budget which will be incurred in the next three months. You will create an IO for this and post the expenses for this cost object. Based on the availability control check it will also give a warning or an error message based on the config once the expenses exceeds the budget. Once the promotion u will be closing the IO and settle it to another cost object say cost center and close it once and for all. U will create another IO for another sales campaign. This is just an example. Like this u will have different IO to meet different business situation. U cannot use single IO for all ur requirement which will defeat the very purpose of tracking the cost.

U can also lock the Internal order for some reason u dont want users to use this IO for posting temporarily for some period. Once u set the locking this IO will not be availble for posting temp. U can always unlock it which will enable the users to make postings. U set the lock like this

Open the order in the change mode-> edit-Loct-set.

Once u close the order, u cannot open it for postings again.

I want to have the order not receive any assessments/allocations

Create a user status 'XXXX' and disallow transactions RKPU, RKPV and RKIU and RKIV which are for plan and actual assessment. Assign to your order.

For an order u can restrict to the transaction. This is done by choosing the appropriate allowed transaction in each order. If u close the order u can not post any transaction. For the settlement to take effect u need to have TECO otherwise u will not do the settlement. I think even if the status is TECO still u can effect postings. Pl check.
