Backward measuring point in sap pm

Hello Gurus,

As per the SAP standard, with backward measuring counter we are unable to create maintenance plan.

1) So could anyone please explain me the possibility to create maintenance plan with backward measuring counter.

2) Could you explain me the use of measuring counter other than measuring documents and condition based maintenance.

The main requirement is we needed work order with respective backward measuring counter.
