Create role(s) for non-basis-admin users in IDES

Hi,

I have to create role(s) for non-basis-admin users in IDES SAP ERP 2005.

All I want is to prevent these users from running Basis Admin Transactions. One simple way is to disable menu Tools - Administration & Tools - CCMS Menu.

I tried by creating several roles corresponding to each main menu node then assigning these roles to the users.

Unfortunately, when a user logons, it takes really long time for the first SAP menu screen to appear.

Now I wonder that there is any other solution to achieve my goal.

Hi Toan,

"when a user logons, it takes really long time for the first SAP menu screen to appear" this is not related to roles and responsibilities, check with ST02 and it's related to buffer/memory .

Make sure you have properly generated all the new roles, it should work.

Hi Hari.

It's because of Role - the reason is there are lots of roles (each role for each child node in SAP Menu - e.x: Office-Telephone Integration, Office-Appointment Calendar, Tools-ABAP Workbench, ...) created are assigned to users.

If an user is assigned some roles of SAP, it takes not much time to appear the screen when logging-on.

Did you save& generated all the new roles in PFCG?

Yes, certainly. Authorizations had been generated at the time creating roles.
