Firstly I must apologise for my question, I am new to PI, and also I am not very clever.
I want to create a new PI Scenario which will send RFC BAPIs from OurSystem to PI then to CustomerSystem, and also an IDOC in the other direction i.e. from CustomerSystem to PI to OurSystem.
We have all the necessary RFC connections i.e. between OurSys and PI and also between CustSys and PI.
My question is do I need a Business System for the CustSys in PI in order to create this type of Scenario i.e. RFC & IDOC? We already have a Business System for OurSys in PI.
All help, advice, links, etc., will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you kindly.
Hi Warren,
Welcome to PI !Yes you need business system/component for any scenarios to tell PI this is a sender and this is a receiver , however the type of business system defers from the system which you are interacting. However in some case you just go with business component only i.e when interacting with Non ECC system.
So i believe your customersys is non ecc system so in this case u can create a "AS Java" business system for this in SLD or you may create business component in ID directly both works fine . However the decision to go with Business system or Business component while interacting with third party depends on your developemnt standards defined by your client.

Manoj
