Hi,

The following things are client dependent and cannot be tramsported from one client to other client:

1. Number ranges - for any document or customer or vendor

2. Master data - customer master / material master / vendor master / pricing master / customer material information record.

You observe when we do any configuration the system asks us to specify the request no. which we create if authirized to do so. But when we create the master data the system never asks us for any request no. because of which the data is not transferrable.

Number ranges:You will have to define new number ranges in the production server also apart from defining in the Development client and the QA client.

Configuration server:

You should not do any configuraion directly in the production server as it is live server in which the users are working because if any config goes wrong it affects to other areas also which will lead to errors. The basis guys keep the production server as not modifiable only for this reason.

You do the configuration work in the development server, get it tested in the QA server and then transfer this to the production server. The transfer is done through the requests generated bu you in the process of configuration.

Reward points if solution helps.

Hi Sridhar

Number ranges cannot be transported to different servers. Strictly speaking, we should not do any configuration changes in Production server. Any configuration chages should take place ONLY in development server, test it and if found okay, then only, it has be moved to production. Moreover you are not configuring number ranges. You are just assigning.

Reward me if this is useful.

Number ranges cannot be transported from dev to quality or production.

You will get the access in quality/production to create the same.

thanks
