Legacy asset transfer

Hi our go live date is October 1st.

I am transferring asset master data using LSMW. 3 Files are ready. One file for assets before 2006 including Data and Valuation.

Second upload is for asset acquired in 2007. This has 2 files to be uploaded, one for header and items (transactions).

My trasfer date is 09/30/2007. My Last depreciation posted in previous year is 12/31/2006.

My question is during this Asset uploads do I have to take any precautions on how the posting period should be set in OB52. Please clarify if there is any relation between this master data upload and the posting periods for Assets.

I have to upload this today and please give me direction and I don't want to upload any wrong information, Thank you.

Hi Siri

The legacy data upload and the Financial period has no link.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks Ashok and right now in my system only period 9 is open so no need to change anything right.

Correct. OB52 only controls the posting of Financial documents and the legacy conversion of Fixed Assets do not post any. So it could be completely closed and you could still carry out a successful legacy conversion.
