ECC 6 with Oracle installation Error

Hi to all,

I tried to install IDES ECC 6.0 with Oracle. But there was an error in the "Start Central Instances" phase. The following are the contents of the startR10.log file.

Hi,

Pls try start the j2ee server manually and then restart the installation.

what happens after pressing the retry button of sapinst?

When i give retry, It continues the same step and displays the same error again.

You need to find out, why the system is not coming up.

Check the tracefiles in the work directory (\usr\sap\R10\DVEBMGS00\work) - sort them by date and check the youngest ones for errors, especially dev_ms, dev_rd and dev_w0

Hi expert,

Thank u for ur suggestion. I checked dev_ms file. There it shows something like sharing violation. And there were no other two files in that folder.

The process is throwing an exception, if your Dr. Watson was correctly configured, you´d get one. The system can´t apparently attached the shared memory segment... Did you do any changes in the profiles? How big is your hardware (Memory + Swap)?

Dear Sir,

Thank u for ur valuable suggestion. When i run Dr.Watson, It shows "No fault detected" message.

In our system, there is 4GB RAM ( 4 numbers of 1 GB RAM ).

The processor is Core 2 Duo ( 2 x 1.86 Ghz)

HDD - 500 GB

C: (OS) D:(Oracle, usr) E: F:

Size in GBs 100 250 100 50

Virtual mem 1024-4096 2048-4096 2048-4096 2048-4096

Did the same error happen (with the error you get) at the first time system was starting?

To get a clean memory state, I suggest to reboot the box and try again.
