MIgrating Local webdynpro projects To NWDI.

I did follow the procedure of migrating Local webdynpro projects to JDI fro

the kink below.

after step 1 it prompts to create an activity but in the document its mentioned in step 8. Did any do this migration before. Your help is highly appreciated.

1. file >new >development component project> select the type as webdynpro (do I need to check the local development box. I am ssuming not to do so) > its prompts to create an activity ( I did create an activty)

Then I copy and paste the packages from the loacl project to the new project. which is created. in the tutorial its mentioned that it prompts for a message add files to DTR but it never happened.

can any one let me know what need to be done?

    Hi James,

When you copy the src packages of the local project to a DC it will not automatically ask for an activity. You have to explicitly add the packages inside the activity.

Let me give you the steps:

    1) In the Navigator tab, paste the src packages folder in the created DC.

    2) Go to the Development Configurations perspective and then create a new activity.

    3) Close the Created project and then reopen.

    4) Go to the DTR Perspective and expand the S/W Component tree and navigate to ur newly created DC.

    5) Expand the the full tree Structure.

    6) Add the following folders manually to the newly created activity in step 2.

    7) Folders to be added...cfg, def, src, test, metainf, .dcdef, metafolder

    8) Right click each of the folders and then click Add-->Subtree to the activity.

You dont have to manually copy them in NWDS 7.0

It worked for earlier I was copying src packages in webdynpro explorer view. Now I did it in navigator view and it works..thanks for you help though.
