Taking long time when clicking on Message Mapping in Integration Repository

Hi,

Environment: XI 7.0

OS: Solaris

DB: oracle10g

We got an isue from Development team saying Response time is very high when clicking on Message Mapping in Integration Repository of XI. For any operation in Message mapping (Change object, Save, creation) taking long time.

As part of trouble shooting I checked J2EE parameters through Visual admin.

And also I checked in RWB and Messages.

Every thing looks normal. other than Message Mapping all objects are responding promptly. Integration Directory also responding good.

Can any one help me in figure it out exactly what are the areas we look for and how to find the performance issues for this issue.

Thanks,

Sri.

Hi,

If your using idocs in mapping, then take a look at SAP Note 709400 - Performance problems with large IDocs in mapping tool.

Thanks,

Yes we got there is some IDOC associated to the object in the message mapping.

So we are investigating if the SAP note could be the fix for our problem.

Sri,

Sometimes if your mapping has lot of user defined functions, queue functions, lookup for ten fields with the same value (if not global container used here) etc also you may get some problems with performance. If you want please see this weblog where he has compared the performances:

Also if the problem is only with this mapping then anyone of the above factors is true. Else you have to see different options.

Hi,

The SAP Note 709400 is for XI 2.0. I am not sure weather it fixes the problem. I am still working on the issue.

Thanks,

Sri.

Hi,

Well the concept is the same in XI 3.0, so the note is also relevant for XI 3.0.

Exporting the reduced IDOC XSD's removes all the information that is not directly relevant at mapping time. A consequence of the less content in the IDocs is that they load faster.
