Hi ,
We are working on upgrading and moving our system to Suite on Hana . Our source system is on ECC6 EHP4 running on oracle 12.We are moving to EHP8 and HANA 1.0 on target.
We did one iteration last month on a test system. HDB_SIZING report estimated the data size on target disk to be 900 GB and when the DMO is completed, the size on the disk was close to 900 GB on target.
We did the second iteration with recent production copy on test system. HDB_SIZING report estimated target DB size on disk to be 1000 GB . But when the DMO is completed we are noticing a huge difference in the disk size. The target DB size on disk is now 1.5 TB.
We are trying to figure out why the DB size on target is way above what HDB_SIZING report estimated and also why is it very different from our first iteration. Any help / pointers on this ?
Hello Atul,
The Suite on HANA memory Sizing report is quite detailed in its analysis, so I would suggest that you compare your as is with its estimates especially also the hybrid LOBs size to find the reason for the variance.
Best regards
Frank
