Aggregates are sub set of cubes or baby cubes which are created by dropping some characteristics to increase the summarization level.

Mainly Aggregates used to improve the Query Performance.

    Aggregate types:

    All characteristics(*)

    Fixed value(F)

    Hierarchey(H)

For ex:Select fixed values and assign C001

    Save

    Check

    Fill the Aggregates

If you want to view the Aggregate select the technical name and go to display button.

If you are filling first time you fill the aggregate with activate and fill option and there after we will use roll up to till the Aggregate.

Aggregate contains a keyfigure 0FACTCOUNT indicates how many records has aggregated to generate aggregate.

If you have time dependent navigational attribute do your cube you can't create aggregate on it.

    Indexes are two types

    Primary indexes

    Secondary Indexes

There are two types of Secondary indexes

    Bit map indexes

    B-tree indexes

Bitmap is used when less number of customers

When cardinality is less we built BITMAP

When Cardinality is high we build B-Tree

    Hope it will helps you.......
