SAP MDM repository load options

Hi Experts,

In SAP MDM, For the repository load options, Immediate and Update indices.

We choose Update indices when we do any data model changes to the repository.

Immediate option is chosen when we do the changes to repository through MDM clients.

So I want to know ,

When we say schema change, it is only the data model change or also import/syndication, rules kind of changes, or update indices is Strictly needed only when the schema is changed?

Hello!

Update Indices option is only needed when the repository structure is changed:

"When you choose Immediate, MDM automatically updates indices that it knows to be out of date as a result of changes you make to the MDM repository data through MDM Data Manager. However, when the structure of the repository has been modified through MDM Console, MDM cannot know precisely which indices need to be updated. In these cases, you should choose Update Indices rather than Immediate when you start the repository."
