COST CENTRE DOES NOT EXIST

Hello All,

In some of the cases, the following error we are getting as Cost Centre does exist on 21.09.2007. Then if i see the cost centre master data there i found the valida date is from 01.04.2007 to 31.12.9999. Then why the above error is coming. Can any body explain.

Hello

Go to T.Code /nOKEON and see:

a) the validity of the cost center

b) more importantly, see if the cost center is activated

What do you mean by 'if the cost center is activated'?

Hi there

once you create the cost centers, you go to OKEON, and in the hirearchy, you can see the status of the cost center, if that is green light it means that this cost center is active, and working if the light is not green it means it is not actove, you have to activate this, in this regard it will not work.

I would also use KS13 to verify that the correct information such as validity date, controlling area, and company code were used for the cost center.

What I can add is to make sure that the end date of 9999 is not actually 1999. I have made that mistake before thinking I keyed 9999 but actually keyed 1999. I glimpsed over it so fast that I actually thought it was 9999 until another set of eyes caught it.

Pl check the validity period of the cost center. If ur posting is prior to the start date then u will get this error. U can make changes to the start date also.

did you check if the cost center exists in that controlling area, where you get the error message?
