VD - Query Syntax

Hi Experts,

I am planning to use VDS to provide identity data to third party application. The setup is complete and I am able to retreive identity values via LDAP client. But I am only able to use a few attributes in the query filter like objectClass, mskeyvalue etc.

How can I use some other attributes in the filter like displayname, mx_lastmodtime for instance? I believe it should be standard lDAP query syntax.

Thanks,

Chenyang

Sorry I posted a false question.

It seems the ldap browser alone with VDS does not support query syntax for addtional attributes. But other LDAP client does. Like IdM itself is able to query VDS data with any attribute values.

    Cheers

    • Hi Chenyang,

Any LDAP client should be able to read the attributes, but you might need to tell the client what the additional attributes are. Probably the easiest way to handle this is to use the convert to/from to map the IDM Attributes to more standard LDAP attributes (e.g. MX_FIRSTNAME -> givenName, MX_LASTNAME -> sn)

Also, I'm assuming that you are using the standard VDS config for virtualizing the Identity Store?

      Thanks,

      Matt
