Hi experts,

when doing GR for material XXX, we got a warning message saying Material XXX has status Cent. phase out completed in plant 0001, after clicking this message it says In the material master record, the material status (field "MAT/PPC status") has been maintained. This means that use of the  material can be restricted.

who can tell me what the reason, consequence it has? and how to fix it?

points will be rewarded for the helpful answer.

We can control Material master usage by assigning the statuses in the material master.

Example: We can block (Based on the message definitaiton in Status) purchasing of perticular material by sassigning the relavent status to Material master record. And at same time you can use this material for IM i.e. Goods receipts(Open POs)/Issues.

This status can be assigned at Client level( Basic Data) or at the Plant level at Purchaisng data.If it is assigned at client level , then the ststus is applicable to all plants.

T code for defining the Material status : OMS4

I your example, please check the stsus assigned in Material master and details of the status in OMS4.

hi,

thank you very much for your kind reply, very helpful.

two more questions:

1) what is the meaning of "Cent. phase out completed"?

2) how can i find out who set this indicator? mm04 seems not ok.

Hi

The status is seems to be user defined based on requirement.

As per my under standing it may be "Centrally phased out".Means want to delete this material over a period of time like all open orders, stock becomes zero.

In MM04, have you checked each line details? You can't see the details at line item level ,you need to go to details of each line item.
