Unique Exchange Rate based on Capitalized Asset Date - for all asset use life.

Today in our scenario we use depreciation areas with settings for Parallel currencies (and currency type = 30 Group Currency). Similar to most usual parallel currency settings. But we are trying to find something different and I'm not getting any SAP documentation to help on that. Here is the approach: we would like to have a depreciation area that could work with parallel currency but always using the same exchange rate. This means that once the asset is capitalized we should use the capitalization date as base for any exchange rate conversion. So, any APC adjustment, monthly depreciation, potential partial transfer or retirement would always be using the same rate previously used when capitalized. This also means that I could have an asset life during 10 years and always posting against to this special area using the same exchange rate. This is possible?

    Hi George,

You can define an Exchange Rate Type (tr. OB22 and tr. OB08 / table TCURR ) which always uses the same exchange rate.

In other words: The system always use the exchange rate from table TCURR. If there is only one exchange rate, the system uses always the same exchange rate.

    best regards
