Hello BW Experts,
A.What level should be the Flat File located if we are loading it through a Process Chain??
B.What level should be the Flat File located if we are loading it through an InfoPackage Group??
C.What level should be the Flat File located if we are loading it through a Process Chain..the flat file also being used by an InfoPackage Group ??
Per my knowledge, the best location for a Flat File would be in the 'Application Server'!!
Does this satisfy for all the above 3 situations??
Plz clarify..!!
Thanks & Regards,
Sapster.

Hi sapster,
yes it should be in the application server.it must be placed in the porper folder where the source files should be present.most of the application servers are unix based systems.and all the deltas are placed in the particular working folder with time stamps.and we will give this path in the processchain variants.so that it can search the particular folder as per the path specified and it will load the flatfile data into the corresponding data targets.based upon the timestamps it will identify which one is the delta file.
hope this is vivid.

Yes, by using process chain or infopackage group, you are loading the data through a background job and the background job cannot recognize your workstation. Therefore the flat file must reside on the Application server.
Hope this helps.
